Basically install a new WSL instance, run that script and wait about 5 minutes and everything's pretty much setup the way I like. I also rsync over things like my custom bin folder and configs directory to a Windows folder, where I've got a shell script created to provision a new WSL if something happens to my current one (happened once) or want to start a new WSL. To keep it all backed up, I just Rsync over my ~/Projects folder to an external drive every night and then my Windows backup software (Backup4All) copies that over to OneDrive. To test this I am able to open a project and work on it fine, building, saving, opening files, but once I open GitKraken my whole dev environment Locks up. If you’re going to get a GUI, I’d suggest Sublime Merge. If you’re trying to learn git, maybe use a GUI alongside using the CLI to visualize the commit graph, but run all commands via the command line. Dev Environment locks up, does not respond. I’d suggest using a GUI only if you already understand the git command line I wouldn’t use them as a learning tool.
